The inn…

... is a restaurant serving unpretentious, traditional local specialities. First mentioned in the 15th century, the Thurnerhof of one of the most beautiful, one of the oldest and above all one of the best preserved farmsteads in Schenna. In 1996 the family of the Counts of Meran opened an inn here, with their tenant, Bernhard Tammerle, now offering lovingly prepared Tyrolean specialities.

Old walls…

... tell so many tales of the fate, life, love, joy and suffering of the farming families who lived here. The worn brick floor bears witness to generations of rough mountain shoes on industrious peasant feet: you pause on the uneven paving, slow your step and think awhile.

The smoke chamber…

lies at the heart of the house: here, where once speck was smoked and farmers’ wives, with only scarce ingredients, managed to prepare nourishing fare for their families, farmhands and maids, you can now relax in the soothing warmth and romantic atmosphere and enjoy a wide variety of tasty delicacies.
